I was just about to post here. We need to have an initial meeting to talk about actually forming an official committee.

that’s 2 committee members we need 3 more and a meeting time. If someone wants to throw out some dates and times I can create a poll and schedule it on the community calendar.

The City of Wichita / Sedgwick County Food System Master Plan is being formed by a group that has met 2 or 3 times. Here is the website: https://www.wichita.gov/FoodPlan/Pages/default.aspx

This could pan out to be an important initiative that may have grant dollars available.
I think MakeICT at the table would be great and potentially give MakeICT more facetime within the community as the master plan is finalized and rolled out.

There are also USDA grants for hoop houses.

I’d like to be involved as some lower level as I am working on some other committee projects right now.
I do think if we plant trees they should bear fruit or nuts.

I know how to cook biochar for soil amenity! I think I have my old torrent barrel at the farm. I would be interested in the committee if you still need people. I also work at Firefly Farm
