Woodshop Cleanup

The hazardous materials class got to work last night cleaning out the clutter in the woodshop. A LOT of material was taking up precious space and needed to be removed.

But we’re not done. There are still several large pieces, particularly in the hallway, that still need to be dealt with. Their presence makes the space look unprofessional and uninviting. It’s my hope that they can be removed or carefully stowed underneath the shopbot.

And there’s still a lot of cleaning to be done. You can help by making sure tools get returned to where they belong. That’s a difficult task, i know, given that so many are misplaced, but that’s slowly being remedied.

You can also help by remembering to empty vacuums and taking out trash. Leaving vacuums clogged and long pieces of scrap in the trash bins are NOT helpful. Most of our time cleaning up was spent dealing with these exact issues.

While it’s unlikely that those irresponsible enough to leave messes will read this, I hope MakeICT can count on all of you to be vigilant and to remind others that we need to be courteous of our shared space.

These are just a couple of really irritating things discovered last night. I think you’re legally allowed to give them a swirly. They’re not cool.
