Or more likely postpone it to next week (since we usually don’t meet the last Tuesday.)
I am moving the meeting to next Tuesday… hopefully the weather will be better.
We are on for tonight!
Agenda:
- Demo on how to take a PDF of a guitar body, clean it up and make a template of it with OnShape.
- Cut a template on the laser cutter that we just built
- Cut a hole template
- Practice routering holes using a template (Hopefully)
I accidentally ran across this 11-minute YouTube video, and I thought the guitar group might be interested. She uses a seven-string guitar, and I didn’t know there was such a thing. I only knew about 6-string, 12-string, and 4-string bass.
She Plays My Guitar and Crowd is Speechless - White Rabbit Jefferson Airplane
If you want to skip ahead, there’s a lot of fiddling around until she first picks up the guitar at about 4 minutes, and then more fiddling until she begins to play at about 7 minutes. Enjoy!
Apparently the most tuning is for the lowest pitch string to be B and the rest are standard, so B-E-A-D-G-B-E. Next most common is Drop A Tuning: A-E-A-D-G-B-E. And the third most common is All Fourths Tuning: B-E-A-D-G-C-F.
There are also 8 string guitars, but it’s difficult to imagine the finger strength that would require.
Hey guys,
Sorry I missed the class today. Laid down for a quick before dinner nap and woke up when it was past 7:20pm. I live far enough away I could not make it. Sigh. Also next week I will be out with a gig. (Adult band might be at the Cowboy…details later.)()
