I ran across this a day or two ago. This is a KickStarter for a DIY/Maker weather station. There are a few different kit versions available. There is an outdoor unit that contains sensors for 8 different weather elements (wind speed/direction, rain, temperature, humidity, etc) and an indoor unit that does temp/humidity. They all transmit on a 433MHz RF signal. There is an Arduino based receiver option as well as a Raspberry Pi + Software Defined Radio receiver option. All open source.

That’s a pretty cool one.

A while back I bought an inexpensive one from wish and was going to set it up but was sidetracked about four times.

I recommend associating with wunderground. ( https://www.wunderground.com/ ) more data the better the forecast.
