Walkin' & Rollin' Costumes

I heard about your partnership with Magic Wheelchair for Logan’s wheelchair costume and I think that’s awesome! You guys will do an epic job for them.

I also wanted to let you know about another organization that is based right here in the midwest called Walkin’ & Rollin’ Costumes. We do the same thing as Magic Wheelchair, we build costumes for kids in walkers and wheelchairs, all over the nation, and we keep them free of charge to the families. We started in January 2015 and are a 501©3 non-profit based out of Olathe, KS. We have multiple chapters around the nation as well. One thing we do differently though is that we also partner with schools to build these costumes as class projects through the school’s STEM program, enabling the kids to learn about Science, Technology, Electronics and Math, while doing a fun project for another child. We are even working with a school in Andover to make a costume for a child in a wheelchair for this Halloween.

We also attend conventions and comic cons to promote Walkin’ & Rollin’ Costumes and hope to be in Wichita soon. We would love to meet with MakeICT and perhaps partner on another project in the future. Feel free to check out our website (www.WalkinRollin.org) and see many of the costumes we have made in the past for many kids around the nation. I’d love to hear from anyone in regards to helping build more exceptional costumes for exceptional kids.

By all means, let me know when you’re coming to town. You can email me direct at david@makeict.org, or PM @David here on the forums. I’m certain there are plenty of kids waiting in line!

I will absolutely let you know when we are in town. And yes, there are always kids that need costumes that we aren’t able to build in time. The costumes takes weeks if not months to build and I have kids right now that I don’t think will be able to find builders for them before Halloween of this year. And that’s exactly why we build costumes all year long. Obviously Halloween is our big push with the most requests, but with so many comic cons now at different times of the year, many kids love getting them at other times of the years and we are more able to build those since there is less demand at those times.

Looks like their website might be down this morning. Here is their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/WalkinRollin/

It comes up for me. Maybe a temporary glitch.

I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work for you ladeana. It’s not down as far as I know. Please let me know if you are still having this problem.

It appears back up…
