Hi, Everyone! MakeICT is hosting an extra Maker Monday on December 17th from 7:00-8:30. There will also be a laster-cutting ornament activity for the community taking place at the same time. Last Monday was hoppin’, and I anticipate this coming Monday will be just as busy, if not busier. And that’s great for our space!
Please let me know if you can help out Monday night. We will need volunteers for:
guest check-in
tours
help with the ornament activity
wrangling guests as needed
I could be able to help! I don’t really know how to do check-in but I could be taught! I also have never been formally told how to give a tour but I know my way around enough to explain what the areas are. And I know nothing about the laser so it might be best that I avoid that?
Thanks helpers! @cshunatona and anyone who can help with laser cutter - can you show up at 6:30 so I can get you started?
Heck, really that’s everybody. Jobs that need done before anyone shows up:
Vacuum front area
Clear off coworking tables
Set up check in computers (Randy and Josh are great at this and can show you the ropes)
Clean bathrooms
Re-arrange classroom tables into rows of three straight across
Start pre-cutting laser designs
And then when people show up there’s check-ins, tours, herding… if you’ve never done it before now is a great time of year to learn. I’m a little scared that we were swamped last maker monday because usually January is our crazy month.
Hey all, just wanted to bump this to say it’s Maker Monday again and we should have a good size crowd so extra help would be much appreciated! I am fighting a cold and would not mind at all if someone else could do presentations - my voice was shot Thursday after I taught a class!
I plan to be there around 5 to tidy up the front Magic Wheelchair/Kiosk stuff. If we had a couple of folks available, we could easily move those large sheets of insulation back to the area above the wood shop. I’m kind of banned from ladders at the moment.
