Hello all!
I tried using the vacuum former for the first time yesterday, and it did not go well. I tried using both .050 acrylic and .093 polycarb as test pieces which were the thinnest ones I found at home depot, but neither of them heated up to reach anywhere close to flexible enough to drape and conform over my form, even after 3 minutes of heating. While heating I noticed a section of the heating element drooping near the center, making that particular part not glow, but the rest of it seems to work fine. I’m not sure if that is the cause of my problems, or if there is something else missing. Either way any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
