To help us prepare, we ask that all locker tops be cleared off by the end of the day on Sunday, September 14. Any items left on top of lockers or in hallways (i.e., not secured inside lockers) will be removed and disposed of in accordance with Unified Personal Property Policy to ensure safe and efficient maintenance.

The facilities team brought that resurfacing of the flooring is being completed and a discussion with board regarding the “best” times was had. After providing a few dates, Sept 15 was the day which corresponded with the contractor’s schedule.
There is no immediate concern to the membership but a need to have this service completed and due to the nature, cannot have any members walking or disturbing the floors until completion in the afternoon.

Service Master is going to strip and wax our hallway floors. It’s easier to do it all at once so we’re asking to shut the building down while we do. The lockers are not involved but there’s not supposed to be storage above them so we’re also using it as an opportunity to get rid of the things forgotten on top of them.

There’s nothing on the calendar for the 15th of September (no Maker Monday) so perhaps no urgency to it, but we will have to remove everything from the VCT portion of the hallways except the lockers and so yes, we will need to put the gallery back together and the cabinets outside the shops and the PPE cabinet and rolling cart and so on.
Due to insufficient drying time during the cleaning and waxing service on September 15, 2025, the floors did not cure properly and now require rework to meet the standards of cleanliness and safety.
To address this, the building will be closed from 8:00 AM on Monday, September 29 to 8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 30. This date was selected as no activities were previously scheduled, minimizing disruption.
