Upcoming Building Closures for Floor Polishing- February 20th

Folks,

The cleaning crew will be polishing our floors next week which will involve closing the building to all entry between 8am and 1pm on February 20th.

Please do not attempt to enter the building during this time.

Service Master has requested a change to the plan.
They are requesting that the building be closed Monday and Wednesday for sure and Friday be held in reserve. They want to polish floors on Monday and Wednesday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.

Please amend the building closure on the calendar to Monday the 16th and Wednesday the 18th.

I know they had some issues last time but the floor looks very bad in places. Debris in the wax for example. Is this a matter of getting what you pay for?

They had a lot of trouble getting the floor wax to dry last time because the building is not conditioned. I think they are better prepared this time. The building has to be shutdown and members excluded in order to accomplish the work which means that they get 1 try at making it look good. Last time the building opened back up before the wax fully set, hence the foot prints and debris. I hope this will be a better outcome.

The debris I was referring to was “mopped in". Not just stuff that got tracked in afterwards. Hopefully it’s better this time.

And tbf, it still looks better than the ceiling. :rofl:

We are on track to have the building open at 4:30. Please do not use the south hall today unless you absolutely need to.

@leads, if your room seems to have adopted something new, sorry, I took to chucking things out of the hallway in preparation for today and Wednesday. I’ll get it back on Thursday unless someone gets to it first.

Edited to add: The smell is rather strong. If you are sensitive to things like that, you may want to stay away from the space today and Wednesday completely.
