Unauthorized usage and damge in Textiles

Ladies and gentleman. You are seeing this because so many from throughput the space have need of items found in textiles. It has happened again (and again). This time we came in to textile Tuesday to find that the iron has been broken (apparently dropped) - leaking water everywhere. We are down to 1 general use iron which also needs attention as the sole plate has been scorched and used for who knows what resulting in sticky globs. We had to throw away the broken iron and will attemptto salvage the other.
We also came in to find the Gammil unteathered, dirty, and both top and bottom tension changed to the point of being locked up. This is distressing to the other users since the log book indicates that the last user was for an authorization 2/5 which happened to have been conducted by me at which time the machie was completely maintenanced and tied down.
I have posted and reminded, pleaded and I don’t know what else. Yet we continue to find damage in our area.
Once again members have been inconvenienced by some unlnown person’s actions. Consequently, we are investigating an authorization lock for the Gammill and a camera for the room. We hope to be able to continue to supply good quality tools for all.

This is terrible news June.
I’m so sorry someone chose to disrespect the space.
I hope we can put a stop to it.

It seems lately that there’s been more of this type of thing. The last few times I’ve been in the metal shop, there’s been a real mess left behind. Unfortunately, those doing it are likely not here. They are likely not “engaged”.

Let’s make cameras in every shop a priority.

I completely agree. We need to have cameras and locks - it sucks that there are people who make it that way, but all the better to have nicer stuff for those that deserve it!! Thank you for being a great leader in Textiles June!!!

This enrages me. Sounds like the lock is the way to go.
