Top soil

The Mulvane Community Garden is looking for cheap or free top soil. Any recommendations truly appreciated.

They should check with Mulvane Public Works first, then maybe the COOP in town.

Top soil is a valuable commodity. You usually get what you pay for.

How many cubic yards do they need?

Larger volumes are usually worth the extra outlay even if it is considered “too much”.

The Community Foundation just raised $1050 to replace their tiller, the transmission was completely shot and beyond repay. They have less than that in their account. Public Works doesn’t have anything to offer, but have offered to help after delivered. They probably need 2-3 dump truck loads, based on what I heard at their meeting tonight. I’ve gotten the a source of horse manure, hopefully that works out and will help.

Might check with wichitadirtco.com. Probably not free but for a nonprofit community purpose they might be able to give you a deal.

And if you do need horse poo, check back with me.
