Thinking of teaching a basic “working with glass” class

Thinking of teaching a basic “working with glass” class. It will give users the opportunity to cut (score) glass, use copper foil, and solder the piece, do a bit of decorative solder, patina and polish. Kind of a teaser to the tools you would use if you wanted to advance to stained glass in the future. To help keep things basic, the project will be to frame a postcard between glass. All materials will be provided.

Tentative date is March 24. More information will follow.

I like this. I’ve been wanting to put some of my stitched art behind glass.

That could be arranged - the copper foil would work well around small pieces, but if you wanted to go larger, I’d recommend zinc to frame it with - bet it could be figured out though!

My concern on a larger piece than a postcard would be the hanger pulling away from the foil over time.

My work is 12" x 12" or less with most of it 6" x 6" I rarely go bigger than 12"x12" because it gets hard to get under the machine to stitch. Though I’m fixing to start a 25"H x 50"W piece.
