Survey: TIG welding class in Jan-Feb-Mar 2025?

Hi All,

I’m posting this survey to find out how many people would be interested in a TIG Welding class in 1st quarter 2025.

I do not know who the instructor might be, or when the class might be held. Recently Dave Hanson @whateg01 has given welding courses.

Anyway, if you would be interested in a TIG welding class to be held at an undetermined time in 2025, please respond to this survey. Comments about what days and times work best for you are good too. Thanks!

P.S.: We can start the count at one as I will add myself to the list.

I would be interested as well.

I am interested in a TIG class but I think I need a MIG class first.

I’ve thought a welding basics class that can be combined with the mig, tig, gas, whatever class would be best. In fact I might structure the mig class next month like that. The issue would be that it would only really apply if I’m the one teaching the class unless other instructors get on board with it.

I would love to take a TIG class. Evenings or Saturdays work best for me.

I would be in as well, but I need the MIG class first. I was unavailable at the last one.

When I said I was interested earlier, I forgot to mention that I need the mig class first since it is a prerequisite. I know the absolute basics but I haven’t really ever learned to set up a machine, I just have one that has already been set up for general purpose welding of thick steel and can make ugly welds that are functional for low stress applications, but I have never gotten proper training and am not authorized with makeict.

I don’t know if this matters… because I don’t know what I am doing… but I would like to learn how to weld. Which class needs to come first… :woman_shrugging:

The way the classes have historically been taught, mig has always come first. Imo, a welding basics could be taught that would cover the fundamentals and then that could be applied to either discipline. Also, imo, tig or gas welding, should be taught first, but that’s generally not where the interest seems to lie.

Let’s do it! I know my mom wants to learn how to weld as well, but she isn’t tech so she will probably not see the forum to comment

I’m kind of at the same skill level as Cooper said above. I didn’t know which classes came first. I can make some ugly welds, but I’ve never taken any welding classes at MakeICT. I’ve got the Metalshop Safety, CNC Plasma, and Powder Coating under my belt in the Metalshop.

If its on a weekend I’d love a tig and/or mig class for me and maybe 2 others
