Stained Glass - It's Okay to Start Again

Shoutout to @rustin.atkeisson whose perseverence with his own project inspired me to keep going.
My first attempt at the base design for level 1 hit all kinds of snags, and i messed up pretty severely. Turns out i didn’t even make my pattern correctly.
After thinking about it for quite some time, I traced a new pattern on the light table and then cut verrrrry carefully inside the black trace lines. Then, i quickly roughed up some laminated scrap lying around, used some of the Scotch adhesive, and layed down the cuttings flat, going over them with a brayer. There was some slight curvature to the pieces after cutting the second time, so i overlaid them with cloth and hit them with a flat iron real quick, then bent them by hand to make them flatter. Result as pictured. I’ve left the laminated scraps stacked on the green table for anyone who wants to make sturdier reusable patterns.

Use the vinyl cutter to cut your pattern! The stickers stay on the glass so much more nicely

You know, i have never thought of that.

Quick note: The pattern you made is a derivative of the original for the class. Part of the class experience is teaching design requirements and how to alter an existing pattern. Each person is encouraged to individualize their projects to suit their own particular preferences / tastes. Many patterns are one-and-done as people choose.

Thank you for sharing tips and techniques for Stained Glass!!
