Hello,
The solder station has obtained a battle scar recently. The station still works, it was just the outer insulation that was burned away. None of the inside insulation seems affected.
The iron was thoroughly cleaned, however it still seems to also be harboring a battle scar. It also still works.
The person who did this is incredibly embarrassed that this accident happened and immediately messaged appropriate parties. No need to publicly shame. 
Be safe making, peeps. Hot stuff only gets hotter in this weather.
