Snapmaker U1 - Yoshi 5 colors using 4 filaments

Here’s another example of the SnapMaker U1 Full Spectrum capability. In this print, I am using Ziro Fluorescent Green, Ziro Fluorescent Blue, Ziro Fluorescent Green, and Sunlu White PLA filaments.

This Yoshi model was originally a 5 color print I found on MakerWorld, but the Snapmaker U1 can only do four filaments, we I engaged the Full Spectrum build of Snapmaker Orca. Although this mode can produce some really neat effects, it requires some pre-planning on picking your colors, and understanding your filaments, to do it successfully.

Using this mode, I replaced the brown in the shoes, with a repeating pattern of red, green, and blue, in layer heights of 0.08 mm. This gives the illusion of the color brown, once printed, as long as you don’t really get up close to inspect it.

I’ve added some photos of the shoes close up, so you can see that yes, it really is not brown, but indeed layers of red, green, and blue over and over again.

To help speed up the print a bit, once I got past the shoes, I switched the layer height from 0.08 mm to 0.20 mm.
