Snapmaker U1 3D Printers Facebook Post

I spent this past weekend getting some time with the new Snapmaker U1 3D printers, and did a public post on Facebook about my experience.

Spoiler alert: I’m pretty much blown away by these machines, and actually ended up pre-ordering one for myself at home. I have three multicolor setups at home, but these machines go about color changing in an entirely different way from conventional multicolor 3D printers.

If you’d like see the post of my experiences, along with some photos and videos of the machine in operation, the post is viewable by anyone, as it is entirely public.

The timelapses it can create are pretty cool (although a bit obnoxious to download as you have to go into the root folder instead of through the UI) too as a guy coming from a camera-less printer

I did time-lapses for all of my prints, but I couldn’t figure out how to download them. I tried on Snapmaker Orca, and in Fluidd. Are you saying you have to SSH into the printer to get the time lapses? I really wanted to get those ones I made.

It’s in fluidd. hit x from the IP address → other files → camera

You’ve inspired me to try a print on it. I’ve only ever done multi-color when I did a full layer shift.

Good luck with your print! Multicolor printing is really a lot of fun. I actually ordered one of the Snapmaker U1 printers for home use on March 1st, and it supposedly arrives today. I’m definitely not new to multicolor, as I have three other multicolor capable setups, but I’m looking forward to this Snapmaker probably more than any machine I’ve bought thus far…

exciting I considered getting one of the small bamboo printers with the multi color I just don’t have a direction in which I would normally have things to print in multiple colors.
