I like to sew outdoors. I’ve seen several artist with these bicycle powered sewing machines. I think I want to work on building one in the future. This came about because I wanted to compete in “Plein Air” at Riverfest. I think I’ve figured out how to participate this year but hope to have this for future events.
So you aren’t going to try to build one for this year? Looks like an easy build since it’s really just a system of pulleys and a way to mount the sewing machine
I’m starting an Artist in Residence May 3 at Botanica, in a Fashion Show at Harvester Arts May 21st, and have quite a few projects that I need to complete for clients. I want to do it right, not in a rush.
Hello, I have an entire mini-factory/studio using mostly bicycle powered industrial sewing machines. In it are some treadles, a hand crank, and a lever operated as well as two kick presses but there are 8 bicycle powered different types of industrials. Here is my FaceBook link to the main page and album (overly complicated over 40 pictures). I hope to soon livestream and crowd fund projects…Kind regards, Mike
Hi GeekyBeth, Please follow and like the FaceBook page I only have 6 followers and 6 likes to date even though the work going into this studio has been monumental it hasn’t been noticed yet hence the reason I’m thinking to livestream soon. One recommendation to me was to not have so many photos in the linked album as there is over 40 but being a geek also myself GeekyBeth I overdid it. I might hide the album (or not hide it and just re-name it if I can to overly geeky/technical descriptions and photos) then have a simpler version with single photo per machine. Thanks for the kind comment I really appreciate it so much. Kind regards, Mike
