We have progress 
- The Techsew has been retimed, retensioned, reviewed and pronounced safe to use. Authorizations can begin again. Contact me if you are interested. Also a mentor for this machine is needed.
2. The Adler has been evaluated and deficiencies identified. I will talk with our volunteer mechanic to see what we need to do next.
3. We have been working on the authorization protocol for the new Embroidery machine. We are almost there. It turns out to be a little more complicated than the previous one so we are trying to be thorough to prevent accidental damage. If you are interested in being authorized, please let me know. First authorizations will be given to those who were regular users of the previous machine before it went belly up, followed by those with verifiable sewing experience. Knowledge of threading, bobbins, needles, fabrics, stabilizers etc is necessary.
4. For our quilters: we will be having a “level-up” class for those not yet using the panographs and would like to try. It will be a group instructional class. Let me know if you are interested.
Last, but not least. We are still having issues with people cleaning up after themselves. I am the lead, not your mother, the maid, housekeeping or general cleaner. I do not want to ban food and drinks from the room, or stop accepting donations, but it is a “clean” room where people expect to be a able to work on projects without getting them sticky, stained or damaged in any way. If you want the room nice when you return, please leave it that way for others.
AND … if you pull fabric out of the stash and it dislodges other fabric, please refold and put it back. If you lift what is on top, take the piece and replace the stack. That works better for everyone rather than just pulling it out, letting it fall, and walking away. There are pieces of cardboard in the fabric areas to help with this. Again, if you want us to continue providing fabric, help us to maintain the stash.
Thank you to my faithful “silent helpers” but you should be able to come in and work on your projects without having to spend time cleaning up after others. Let’s see if we can all do better.
