I can bring firewood. We should extinguish the fire at some point anyway, and the article says the best viewing is around 2 AM……don’t know if I can stay awake that long though

Not as good as Kingman, but for me, Afton is my go-to place. Especially since my daughter and son-in-law live in the house west of the lake on the north side of MacArthur. Very handy.

Okay, I’m feeling rested!
We don’t really need to meet up at the space, but it would be very cool to have the telescope as Saturn and Jupiter will be in close proximity. Kim, I hope you feel up for coming, but if not could we still borrow yours?
I’ll bring my small Weber grill, fire starter, and some coals. Can the rest of our party supply foodstuffs in addition to s’mores?
Curious, is Kingman is any good for swimming?

I’ll have ice, water (both bottled and in a large drink dispenser, which is esp handy for handwashing), cooler, and some hamburgers/buns. I’ll see what leftover grad party plates etc I still have. I have a little leftover soda but not a ton.
I don’t think Kingman is swimming friendly but I am not certain. I’m hoping its primitive nature means it won’t be as trashed as Afton and Cheney always are by the end of Memorial Day. I need to double check we don’t have any blue green algae warnings since there will be dogs.
Wind warnings for today exceed 50 mph gusts so everything’s going to try to blow away. There is the possibility of a thunderstorm overnight but they’re supposed to be scattered. Pretty standard Memorial Day weather.

You guys are making me painfully home sick for the camp fire! Too bad I have to work tomorrow. We should totally plan a big MakeICT camping trip this fall!

I’m also bringing my guitar, because what’s camping without someone annoying you with their dope riffs? Kidding. If anyone wants to fiddle with it, you can. If you want to learn some basic chords, I’d be happy to show you.
I plan to be there around 7:30. Not rushing anyone else, just letting you know. If there’s anything else I can pick up on the way, let me know before 6:30. See y’all there!
