Plasma Cutter Back Up after Updating, Sunday, 2025-Aug-17 10pm

I am pleased to report that the Plasma Cutter is back in operation after installing a new Operating System and updating LinuxCNC.

We had been running Debian 10 (released July 2019). We never installed Debian 11 (released Aug 2021). I considered installing Debian 12 (released June 2023), but since OS updates get done so seldom around here (by volunteers, right?), and since Debian 13 was anticipated in August (and in fact was released August 9, 2025), I waited for Debian 13. Especially after hearing the rave reviews it seems to be getting.

LinuxCNC also got updated to the latest version (2.9.4), although I did not make a note of what version we had been running. So together these updates should fix a lot of annoying bugs that we had been putting up with.

Yes, this project (for various reasons) took a long time, and I would like to thank everyone who waited for their patience, and everyone who helped for their assistance. Now go plasma-cut something, heh!

Thank you for all the effort and work updating the CNC!

Thanks for all your work on the plasma table. I’m looking forward to getting authorized

Thanks Kim! You are amazing!

Thank you @Kim_Kirwan. You don’t by chance teach an authorization class on use of the plasma table do you?
