Plasma Class

I have been a member off and on for awhile. I would am looking for a plasma class to refresh my memory. It looks like the machine is down for repair currently. I would just like to express my interest in an authorization class.

I would also be interested in this

I too am interested in getting authorized.

Interested.

I am going to try to post a class for the Plasma Table, probably evening of 15 May. Is that a good time for those interested?

That works for me.

Yes thank you !

I’ve posted a class for next Friday, 15 May at 19:00.

This class will go over the safe operation of the CNC plasma cutter. After this is done each user will operate the plasma table and cut out a design.

This class will not cover any of the design or program (G-code) generation. A sample program will be provided.

More information on the CNC plasma cutter can be found on the wiki along with videos to setup Fusion360 for use with the CNC plasma cutter at MakeICT: CNC Plasma Cutter - MakeICT Wiki

Please wear appropriate clothing for the class. I encourage the use of PPE, of course. While it is common to find people, myself included, hot work in short sleeves and shorts, it is not a best practice, so for the purposes of encouraging safe hot work, I would like everybody to wear the following if possible.
Long sleeve shirt - preferably not synthetic
Long pants - preferably not synthetic
Closed-toe, leather footwear

I am having some issue with my membership or registering for the class. Maybe I don’t have metal shop authorization. I might just crash the cancer class if that is alright and attempt to work it out late. Hope that ok.

The reason it’s not letting you register is probably because the class is full. I’ll (hopefully) be putting another on the calendar soon, though.

Ok thanks for getting back with me that’s good news! Better luck next time
