There are some places like Evans and Dollar Tree that sell unglazed pottery. We cannot fire store bought pieces here at MakeICT. Most are low fire pieces. In our kiln we fire to Cone5, which is hotter than the low fire can take. The low fire pieces would likely melt in the kiln. This would damage our kiln furniture, other people’s work and quite likely the kiln itself.
This piece I found on the ledge is store bought and cannot be fired here at MakeICT. It is marked “made in China” on the bottom.
Please take it home or it will be discarded.
