Rustin noticed today that we have one of our outdoor lights just hanging by the wires. Possibly from vandalism. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe it is outside the west door. Could I get someone to volunteer to get that put back up with a couple of screws? Yes, I’m asking someone to screw it up.
It might have been whacked while moving materials into the space. Does it still power on?
No idea. I’d hope that if it were damaged by a member, they’d let us know.
I’m assuming that was an old recessed light fixture. Does that act as a junction box? I’ve seen a lot of porch lights just screwed to the siding but I was under the impression there should have been a junction box behind them. Ami incorrect?
There’s a real possibility the screws just worked their way loose over time. I don’t think there’s reason/need to believe it was struck.
However it happened…we just need it reattached.
You do need a box. Be an easy fix to add one there. Downside is fixture will be about an 1.5" lower, but still necessary.
I don’t think it would be too tough to put in a recessed box.
How many makers does it take to fix a lightbulb…
Only one. But you’ll have to wait until October when it’s below 90F!
I’d be happy if someone would put a couple of screws in it to hold it until someone gets around to the junction box. And I believe the old recessed fixture just has a flat piece over it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s plenty of room for a box.
I’ll put two in it either tonight or early tomorrow. Looks like the previous two just pulled out or fell out.
Thanks, man. Saves me 3 trips. A trip there, a trip up the ladder, and a trip to the hospital when I fall off and break my leg.
Are there j boxes in the garage?
We had a couple of them collected for wiring the press and cutter, but the contractor didn’t need them. Not sure where they are in there, but they should be around somewhere.
The shelves in the garage have a section of electrical stuff. A lot leftover from all of the work done to the building. Step in the room, turn right, should be the first or second bay.
Thanks, Michael!
