Miter saw zero clearance fence inserts have been removed. Miter saw has been repositioned, releveled, sots tight, and sets about 1/8" proud of the auxilary fences this allows for some slop in the wings and I’m fond of the way it works, but please be aware and register to integral fence when cutting.
A new bench and configuration will be implemented within a few months.
Thanks. The biggest issue I have is that the bench is torn up enough that the saw can’t be securely bolted down so that it stays put. I have intended on gluing a couple of blocks of wood to the bench behind the saw to keep it from walking rearward, but never got a round tuit. (That’s sort of a lie. I did have a round tuit a long time ago that I bought as a kid at the well in Greensburg, but it’s long gone now.) Anyway, I am confident that it’s better off now than it was before you fixed it. Thanks for taking that on.
Is the hardware for the zero clearance fence pieces still easy to find? I moved the left one in last night for a series of cuts where I was getting tearout, so they are handy to have when they are needed.
I’ll bring in some 1/4" mdf. Either just placing it in a zero clearance position or using the masking tape and cyanoacrylate glue trick for a temporary bond will work well.
