A fresh spool of wire has been put on the MIG 211.
While i appreciate the note on the welder saying ‘Sorry out of wire’, please remember our ask from metalshop authorization/ powder coating/manual machining / welding classes that if something is broken or needs servicing that you post on the forum and/or shoot a message to metalshop@makeict.org so that we can get everything fixed.
I am not the lead and i do not live at the makerspace. If there isn’t a post on the forum or email, it’s going to end up being a surprise for someone else needing to use that equipment…
When i looked at the rest of the welder, i found that the tank was almost empty… i’ve worked an arrangement with the treasurer to pick up more wire and refill both bottles on Monday along with other supplies for the metalshop.

Thanks! I don’t know how long the c25 has been empty. The bottle on the small welder may still have a little bit in it; there’s still enough to register 20 cfh on the low side but barely move the needle on the high side. That’s probably about what you saw. I’m not sure what prompted the person who was welding to decide it was empty and to connect to the argon bottle from the diversion. The bottle on the ahp has a now saying it’s empty too.

Both c25 bottles have been replaced as well as the argon bottle. A roll of .030 ER70S-6 was also picked up as a spare, and a roll of .035 ER70S-6 picked up for the other miller (that was completely out…). A new pair of Tillman MiG welding gloves was also picked up since there didn’t seem to be any matched pairs on the blue cart anymore…
Lastly, the oxygen bottle for jewelry was replaced while we were at it.
(Thanks Cooper for the help with loading/unloading and swapping all the bottles)
