Came by to cut some pieces on the table saw using the mircrometer fence and i could not locate the wrench nor any hex wrenches in the correct size. does anyone know where the tool or a hex wrench set might be to make this happen? pic of the screws needing adjustment
What size is it? There are hex keys on the bench in the West shop. I’ve replaced some that were missing but noticed last time I was there that there might be another one missing.
smaller than 7/32. I have a micrometer fence of my own, ill just grab the wrench next time. It’s just kind of a motivation killer.
you should be able to just get a new specific wrench from the manufacturer and keep it near the table saw on a magnet.
Sorry for the motivation killer. Of the 5 or 6 sets of hex keys at makeict, I’m surprised you were unable to find one that fits that screw.
Also, that is not a fence. It is the miter gauge.
I did find that the 3/16” hex key was missing from the set in the West shop, but there was a ”full” set of sae in the East shop that could have been used. I replaced the missing one in the set in the West shop, but will try to find a better replacement as time allows.
I also checked several other locations in the building and found at least 6 other 3/16” hex keys. I believe, if asked nicely, and if returned after use, those could have been borrowed to adjust the miter gauge.
I’ve emailed the manufacturer and they offer one as a spare part.
If you want to purchase and donate a special 3/16” hex key, the woodshop will accept your donation. Otherwise any 3/16" he’s key will work just fine and there are plenty around including in both woodshops.
TLDR; I am not purchasing a special 3/16” hex key.
i have and will.
