I just joined the makerspace and I’m really excited to get checked out in the metal shop. I have some machining and welding experience, but I wasn’t sure what the right process is to get signed off. I didn’t see any safety classes on the calendar—what’s the best way to get started?

I created a metalshop safety class for 10:00 Saturday in the event creator, but when I tried to sync it, I get an error so it does not post to the calendar. Suggestions.

Do a search. I think it was Hangouts that causes the sink to fail. If you remove Hangouts from the event or whatever the thing was that was causing it, it should sync with the remaining sites

All I did was try to sync it individually. The thing that usually causes errors was already unchecked. I think the “sync everything” button fails if even one thing still has meetup checked?

I have a Metal Shop safety class this Saturday at 10am on the calendar

I already have the safety class completed. How do I go about getting checked off on the lathes, mills, and Tig/Mig welders if I have experience? I sent an email to the metalshop general, but am new to this whole process!

John, the metal shop lead, is unavailable for the next two weeks.
He is likely the person who would need to authorize you.
I do not think that he looks at the forum so you’ll need to send an email with your request to metalshop@makeict.org
