MakeICT/Wood Shop Media Recording Guidlines

I am developing some fundamentals classes to help new wood workers at MakeICT. I would like to record some media, to be incorporated into the classes, are their any guidelines for filming in the space of which I need to be aware?

If it is a problem, I will produce the media in my personal shop. However, I prefer to use the organizations space and equipment, since it is what will be used during the classes.

On a related note, if anyone knows a novice, that would like to build some projects and help film, a volunteer or two would be welcome.

I’ve thought about doing something similar for tools like the vinyl cutter! A youtube showing the button pushes would go a looong way.

  1. I’ve filmed makerspace stuff, I don’t see anything about recording on the wiki. I would just be careful not to show people in the background if they don’t want to be shown.

  2. Could this be posted on the makeict youtube? it needs content!

  3. I could volunteer to help a bit, especially if we swap and you help me make a vinyl cutter video.

Sorry I thought I replied to your post, but I must not have hit submit.

Cool

This could definitely be posted to the YouTube channel. I am chem prof and have been running online classes for a long time. I could edit it to make a really good vid. However I don’t have a personal lav mic, and I don’t know if we have any at the site. Anyone with AV knowledge know?

Also yeah I’m 100% down to help you. I know absolutely nothing about the vinyl cutter. If I need to be authorized, can we do a peer authorization?

My spring semester ends in 2 weeks, after that my schedule is wide open until July. Let me know what times work for you.

We do have quite a bit of audio equipment in room 4 (library). Look in the cabinet next to the door on the outside, the desk at the front and there might still be a few things in the cabinets up front. I also have a bucket of cords for audio in room 2 at the back.
