Lumber Donations

The Garden Committee is seeking donations of lumber for raised beds. This must be untreated, dimensional lumber (not MDF or plywood). We’d prefer 6" width boards, as well as 2"x2" or 4"x4" posts. Any condition. Think old barns or old fencing. Just let us know what you have and we can arrange pick up.

is there any certain length you are looking for?

Thanks for asking. Minimum four feet for side boards and minimum 2 feet for posts would be ideal. Other than that, we’re happy with anything you can provide.

Is there still a need? I resurfaced my deck last summer/fall & much to my surprise the boards that were rotting/failing we actually redwood. They are 6" wide, of varying lengths (cut/broken). If they are still needed, I can do an inventory in the next couple days.

Only downside, they did have deck stain/paint applied to the tops of them just before we bought the house.
