I had a feeling the 7mm height gage was not giving us good focus, so I ran some tests and yup, it should be closer to 10-11mm. I also think a range gage is easier to use to position the head. So I left it at the laser cutter, we’ll 3D print a nicer one sometime.

After I aligned and cleaned the mirrors and lens yesterday I did a focus test. I found that 8mm was much better than 10mm. I didn’t test it beforehand and I’m not sure if the mirror alignment would affect the focal length, but it was pretty significantly off when I checked yesterday.
