Lounge Acoustic Guitar

Lounge acoustic guitar was in the Guitar Builder’s area with a note identifying it as “broken, needing repairs. It needs the 1st and 2nd string (not the 5thy and 6th as identified in the note, lol) and two bridge pins. plus missing a strap button. I think it’s been missing the strap button forever, and it might be that the strap button screw hole is stripped or damaged. iI have taken it home to affect repairs. . and hopefully, i’m not overstepping or otherwise stepping on anyone else’s shoes that might have been in the process of planning to fix it. i will have it back at the lounge in a few days.

Thanks Doug. And thanks for telling us.

Guitar is back and back home in the lounge. New strings, bridge pins and new “strap button”, actually end pin or bottom pin, replaced. Attached a cheap strap, placed some extra picks in the case..

Both the bridge pins and the new end pin fit fairly loose in their tapered holes. Makes me wonder if the guitar has a habit of launching bridge pins when played. End pin should be ok now as long as people don’t throw the guitar around by the strap. And i think the bridge pins should be ok also. Let me know if there are additional or recurring issues in the future.

Must say, the upper strap button might have been added at some point in time. It’s truly in an odd position and places the guitar in an odd position when standing up (when one most needs the strap lol. I will move the upper strap button(or add an additional strap button if there is any interest.

Thanks for being awesome!

p.s. New strings need more tuning the first few days but also anytime the guitar sits for a while. There are plenty of “free” tuner apps around. I primarily use ProGuitarTuner that i paid for that works very well for me (and that shows me that perfect tuning is nigh impossible, lol). and fortunately hasn’t changed to a subscription model. (Yet!).
