Looking for an AVR programmer

Yes, I brought my own, which I know to be good. I plugged the other end into one of the ports on my laptop. Do you see an issue with that?

LOL I didn’t mean anything by it.

Sometimes my biggest problem is the easiest. I’ll have to see about a new AVR programmer for the E lab. Sorry about that!

I didn’t mean to sound indignant! :smiley: That was a genuine question. As I was searching for a solution, I read somewhere that perhaps the Dragon might need more power than an ordinary USB port can provide, like a hub with its own power supply, for instance.

Looks like it should be fine. Unless there is a short on the board. Is 5v present when everything is hooked up?

Presumably, but I do not know. When connected over USB, my laptop could read from the Dragon (e.g., its serial number), but I kept getting errors indicating no communication with the target when I tried to give commands.

This is my current theory:

I don’t have Atmel Studio, so I wasn’t able to verify.
