Looking for a woodturning mentor

We are a couple of new members who are really interested to learn the lathes and basics of woodturning. We think we’re fun to be around, so if nothing else we’re good for some laughs. We don’t see any classes on the calendar for the coming months. Wondering if anyone with more than our zero experience would be willing to take us on as a special intro project?

The two of us that want to do turning just went through woodshop safety class last night (Thursday) so we should be authorized for general woodshop? @whateg01

@BillOden We are pretty flexible eves and weekends

I am going to put a lathe authorization class for 10am this Saturday the 11th. Hope that works for you.

It’s a three hour class. I will let you know here when I get it posted. The wiki was having problems earlier.

Bill… just got word that Sat won’t work for the other new member wanting to join. (a baby baptism).
Any chance you could do Sunday after 2?

No, I have a previous engagement on Sunday. I could try for Saturday the 18th or Sunday the 19 th if that works out better.
