That’s a letterpress (a lithograph press is a different animal)…I think it is a Chandler & Price. I’d guess it is from the late 19th century, and it probably works perfectly. They made them to last. We don’t really have the space for a hand-fed letterpress, since we have an auto-fed Heidelberg. It would be cool, and I’d love to teach hand-feeding, but it’s probably not in the cards for us right now. If I had a thou, I’d more likely spend it on ink, ink knives, type, and flexo plate materials. Good catch, though. Where did you run across it?
