I was trying to do some work on the CNC plasma, but the LinuxCNC program crashes before it fully opens. And I don’t know squat about Linux!

Thanks for reporting this, I will take a look at it tomorrow.

It started up OK for me. This might be caused by starting with air off, or with table (motion) power off. Also, sometimes a second start attempt is needed (after closing the error window). If all of that still fails, try rebooting the PC.

I tried starting the program about a dozen times. From the desktop shortcut and from (what would be the start menu if it were Windows, not sure what it’s called for Linux). Got the same error every time. And I couldn’t find the restart button, I am horribly unfamiliar with Linux lol.

It’s likely I’ll be there late Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday for the Electronics Meetup 3-5pm, maybe longer. I’d be happy to show you, if you can meet me there those times or any other.
I’ve been thinking of offering a (free) Linux course for Windows users, both for how to operate Linux when you encounter it (the differences between Windows and Linux), and also how to start using Linux when you’re ready (how to install Linux, while retaining Windows, or not). Anyone please comment if this would be of interest.

i know its hard to get with another member at the right time for training but that’s what is needed!
I checked the cnc plasma three times this week and found it working perfectly each day!
If you follow the steps in correct order it works, if not it gives you text box ( OPPERATOR ERROR ) these are something you did at the wrong time and have to be cleared first! It would be nice to learn linix but not necesary to run plasma table i know nothing about it! So Please
get with someone and learn the correct steps first before trying to cut any projects thanks!
