Leather catbutt patch

Leather catbutt patch

Working on leather patches that should actually lift your morale. Who doesn’t love catbutts. I tried laser engraving some leather and it went far better than I could have hoped. Now to figure out how to make the cat more visible.

Cool! I don’t know anything about leather work, but can you sand it like wood to lighten the non-lasered areas? Too aggressive on sanding would obviously remove the design.

Sanding would only remove the design if the laser engraving was just surface. This leather is dyed all the way through. So sanding would only take the surface charing off and help to improve the look of the leather some. I ordered leather paint and an ultra fine paint brush to make it stand out more. In the future I will definitely make the lines more exaggerated so they are easier to see.
