I have used the wood lathe a few times in the past week to make parts for a lamp, however I noticed some issues while using it. It was frequently displaying an error E7 and refusing to turn for no apparent reason, sometimes immediately after turning it on, and sometimes stopping in the middle of a cut (it doesn’t appear to have been stalling due to being too aggressive, some of the times it stalled were when taking light peeling cuts in a spindle). It would also occasionally ramp up in speed for a few seconds without warning. I was able to complete my work by running it at slow speeds, so that even when it ramped up it was still turning at a safe speed, but that made roughing my blanks difficult.
I took a quick look online and it appears that this is a known issue usually related to a poor connection on the motor speed sensor, but I don’t know these machines well enough to be comfortable working on them. Can anyone take a look and should it be tagged out?
