The blade guide lift gear has worn and slips. I have ordered a replacement and will install it as soon as I am able.
The gear is backordered. No idea yet when it will be available and I haven’t found it elsewhere. Stay tuned.

is the gear specific to the brand? is there an aftermarket alternative?
The replacement part should be here early in the week. I’ll get it installed as soon as I can.
out of sheer curiosity, is this an item that would be prudent to keep an extra of or just one of those freak of nature instances where it never breaks but only once in a blue moon?
Finally finding time to install the new parts for the bandsaw and discovered the reason for the excessive wear and ultimately the failure of the gear for the upper guide. The bracket is broken which allowed the worm gear to cant, not fully engaging the worm wheel. The plan is to come to with a way to get the saw functioning again, then decide if a replacement bracket needs to be ordered. This has been an expensive month of repairs for the woodshop.
Machined opposing faces flat and perpendicular to the back then added a 1/4" steel plate to it to prevent a recurrence.
Fixed one thing… now found another. Hopefully I can get parts locally tomorrow.
All repairs are done and the saw is operational again. Sorry for the long down time.
Thank you!
