James's Relay Tester!

James’s Relay Tester!

This is a relay tester, and it tests relays and shows you if they are actually working.

I use a lot of low signal relays at work. Sometimes they stop working so I needed a way to check them. So I built a circuit that checks them. It was just a quick circuit on some prototype board that plugs into our test system and with a button it actuated the relay. I thought though… I for sure can do this as a handheld doodad. So I found a clicky button and started this one.

Handy, but do you have a relay toaster?

Does it test for contact bounce or contact resistance?

Nope I have enough delay that bounce doesn’t affect me, and I use Kelvin Connections whenever possible do contact resistance stays negligible.

I did superglue the switch in place… and now it doesn’t work… I guess glue got into the switch and it won’t clicky clicky.
