Hi New Member Travis

Hello Everyone

I’m excited to join the MakeIct community. I’m really excited to learn the metal shop.
Welding and plasma cutting are on my list of things to explore.

I’m a Master Electrician by trade and a car enthusiast. Currently I’m restoring a 1968 Pontiac Lemans. I’m needing floor pans, truck pans, and frame work done. So I’ve started to learn how to weld. A little more experience and I should be good at it. I look forward to getting started.

Welcome new member Travis! That’s one of the better looking cars of that era, imo.

As you know, practice, practice, practice! I’m guessing you’ll be MIG welding all of that since that’s what most people gravitate to. In fact, the demand for knowing how to MIG weld is what prompted the MIG welding class next weekend.

Be sure to explore the other areas of the space too, though. I used the laser cutter to cut interior door panels for a buddy’s 76 bronco restomod.

If you’re feeling particularly ambitious when you get to that stage, I believe the textiles area has the tools to do the upholstery.

Looking forward to seeing you around the space!
