Made my first guitar, from scratch, with help from our guitar building (support) group. 
List of materials and cost is at the bottom of this post (after all of the process pictures). We now have a bunch of spare parts available to anyone that wants to join the guitar building group so you wouldn’t necessarily have to buy everything like I did (e.g. as of this post we have spare fret wire, a fret saw for use, neck blanks, tuners)
Highly recommend using our laser to lightly engrave the outline of the guitar and then take it into the woodshoop to cut it out with the bandsaw. The laser also worked perfectly cutting and engraving the fretboard to get the spacing of the frets perfectly aligned. Needed to use the fret saw to get the groves deeper for the fret wire to fit, but didn’t have to worry about measuring the distances.
