Garage door lock location

Will there be any heartache over moving the lock from the west side of the door to the east side of the door? As it is when walking the building it’s usually necessary to walk clear almost to the door to see whether the door is in fact locked. If the lock was on the east side one would only need to walk past the shelves and look to the north to be able to see it.

I see no reason it couldn’t be moved. Though I am not sure I see how it saves you that much. If you are walking all the way to the end of the shelves to look at the door, you are only saving like 2 steps. But if you feel it is useful and willing to move it, I can’t think of any reason against it.
