We have a stand of these growing in our backyard. They are perennial and grow an underground bulb that they die back to each winter and also grow these bulbils along the stem which fall off and start new plants. They prefer full sun but have also been doing fine in our South-facing partial-sun flowerbed against the back of the house.
I dropped off 10 bags of 12 or 24 bulbils per bag in the FREE TO A GOOD HOME box at MakeICT for any that want them.
