Hello, im removing 200 pallets for a client this week and before i take them all to the dump i wanted to see if anyone here had any use for a few?
Are they heat treated or chemically treated? The garden could use a few (9-12) for building small compost piles but only if they’re heat treated.
I’m not good with telling the difference. Whats the tell sign?
A stamp indicating how they were treated.
See: https://jbpallet.com/2020/12/18/what-do-the-stamps-on-wooden-pallets-mean/
Thanks sherry, ill check them before and if they are the right ones ill post back here.
Most if not all are heat treated. There are a lot of diffrent sizes and make up. There is also a large stack of cardboard? Toppers that came on them that maybe fablab can use to laser cut with?
How thick are the cardboard toppers? I’m looking for 1/2" or thicker
Id say half inch. These were pics from customer but ill be on site Wednesday to remove. No access until then.
The pallets made of individual boards is what I was thinking of for making compost bins if those are heat treated. The plywood ones looks nice and seem useful but too solid for compost bins.
I can confirm with you when i start loading them what ones you want and sizes. @Sherry. Or anyone else that has interest. Then i just need to know where to stack them outside that i can get the trailer nearby as im only 1 person.
On the subject of compost. If garden crew ever needs fescue grass clippings or leaves, i have a endless supply.
I’m available for a hour or so if you need help just let me know when and where.
I could use 4 of the solid wood top ones I will be in the fab lab in about an hour. Working on the laser if you are there.
I wont be picking these up until wed or thursday, Not sure yet.
The blacktop area by the garden is trailer accessible, you can pull in/out off Mt Vernon on the fire access road by the creek and then around the building through the parking lot. I’ll be at work 8a-8p Wednesday but should be accessible by text I’ll PM you my #
Not a problem let me know
I could use a few.
This project was put on hold hopefully just til next week as the roof was being redone and i couldnt get access to the back dock to load pallets
I was out of town for a funeral, I saw it was hold just checking to see if you had an update?
