In this hands on pottery class you will have the option to make a mug or vase using the slab method. This will be a 2 session class, unless you elect to have the instructor glaze your piece.
During the first session, you will construct your mug or vase. Together, we'll explore various decorating techniques including carving, texturing, or adding embellishments to your piece.
The second session focuses on glazing and is offered on select days in a relaxed open format. Each session runs within a 2.5 hour window, and your welcome to attend whichever time best fits your schedule.
After the first session, your piece will remain in the studio to dry (about 4 -5 days) and then bisque fired. Once bisque is complete, it will be ready to glaze. I'll send notification when your piece is ready to glaze and provide the glaze session schedule at that time. If you choose to have me glaze, your finished creations will be ready for pickup in approximately 4 - 6 weeks, depending on drying time and kiln schedules. I'll notify you as soon as your items are ready.
All materials - including clay, tools, glaze, and underglaze are included in the class price.
