Inkscape is a free open source vector design software that's available on MakeICT laptops, or you can download it to your own machine and bring it in. It is frequently used to generate designs for the CNC machines at MakeICT: laser cutter, vinyl cutter, plasma or CNC router.
In this class we'll learn the basics of inkscape:
Path, select, shape and text tools
Path manipulation
Flipping, snapping, and rotating objects
We're all tired of cold weather so we'll try to make some springtime art! But users are welcome to come in with goals and ask whatever questions they'd like, especially in the second hour when we tend to drift off and get help on our own things.
This class is for beginners but Intermediate computer skills recommended (know the difference between right click and double click). All ages welcome but under 16 needs to be with a parent. Parent only needs to register if they want their own computer to mess with.
Class for people wanting to teach a class at MakeICT. We learn how to propose a class, how to check in students, how to use the projector and answer any other questions you might have!
