In this hands on pottery class participants will have the opportunity to make one slab built mug with or without handle.

Once your piece is constructed, you'll have the opportunity to decorate it using a variety of techniques - choose from texturing, carving, and painting with underglazes to bring your vision to life.

While your mug sets up for the application of underglaze (approx. 20 - 30 minutes of drying time), you'll also get to underglaze a small round trinket plate or ring dish. This bonus piece is perfect to practice carving and using the underglazes.

After the session, your pieces will remain in the studio to dry (about 3 -4 days) before being bisque fired. I will then apply a clear glaze and fire them a second time. Your finished creations will be ready for pickup in approximately 3 - 4 weeks, depending on drying time and kiln schedules. I'll notify you as soon as your items are ready.

All materials - including clay, tools, underglaze, and clear glaze are included in the class price.
