Crochet is a sustainable and teaches extremely valuable life skills like self-discipline, emotional regulation, time management, creativity, improving self-esteem, resiliency, empathy and encouragement towards others
*You will learn how to coordinate hand holds to be successful and overcome with least amount of frustration preventing giving up with tips and hacks u likely don't get elsewhere.
*Learn basic stitching foundations and how to build upon rows neatly and turn work to reverse directions
*learn how to make your stitches come out even tidy, spaced, fluffy and what to do to avoid warped pieces
*Learn crochet language and how to interpret basic patterns. *Understanding what hooks, you need for what types, sizes of yarn, and project types, with Q&A
* help setting realistic goals to advance you to next stage for success to prevent frustration leading to failure or quitting
*learn chain stitch, slip stitch, slip knot tricks, SC=single crochet, end row turns and double crochet if ready and have time
*bring no.4 yarn dense stable yarn that is NOT any of the following:
plush (doesn't squish flat) too soft lacking structure and density, too stringy (easily split by hook). NO chenille velvet yarn. no super fuzzy- felted-brushed-furry-eyelash yarn. **Choose light colors yarns** too dark deep colors inhibit visual learning cause frustration slow progression **
*no.4 crochet hook & no.5 and/or 5.5 hook (if your buying yarn please get 'I Love This Yarn' brand from hobby lobby)
*Requirements: Healthy fine motor skills. POSITIVE and DETERMINED ambitious ATTITUDE ready to learn and have a little grit and PATIENCE with yourself to get over the beginning bumps and Victoriously CONQUER the beginning trial and error. must be willing to make lots of VALUABLE MISTAKES that significantly FUEL YOUR GROWTH! Getting past the very beginning coordination and mental multitasking is the hardest part...past that the rewards are endlessly satisfying!
*I teach in ways and with hacks to overcome the beginning and move on to the more exciting creative rewards.
*I teach catering to each student individually needs, meeting them where they are at and learn every students' personality, mental processing and emotional needs.
I put 3-hour class, but it won't take that long you can leave when you want but I reserve the room for that long so that we don't get kicked out if I am still helping students finish and answering FAQs Q&A and sending students on their way confidant and prepared. the first hour is taken up by settling in checking everyone in the system, payments, and introductions. we need a core 2-hour class
I am 30 + yrs experienced crocheter (there's nothing I can't crochet or modify) *I am homeschool co-op crochet Teacher* library crochet teacher/ facilitator, crochet Business store Owner, private and video lessons. I've taught to other states. I've taught ALL ages
All crochet is mission driven to Earn to fund sons monthly special needs bills this is of the highest importance so my time is valuable as I work multiple jobs and my full-time dedication to evolve him on his journey while infusing a love of crochet into the community and prevent the âfrustrated give up syndromeâ that causes people to quit as crochet is time and emotional dedicated skill.
