In this class we will be assembling table saw sleds for use in the MakeICT woodshop.

The table saw sled is a very basic project, but requires some extreme precision.

The reward is bringing safe, easy, repeatable, and reliable precision to crosscutting on the table saw.

Skills covered:

Processing sheet goods (without a sled).

Face and edge jointing.

Simple biscuit joints.

Simple dowel joints.

Ripping and crosscutting thin and narrow strips.

Band sawing simple curves.

Elementary mdf router patterns.

Oscillating spindle sander.

Hand routing patterns and edge contours.

Three and four cut squaring methods.

And finally, using the sleds.

Depending on attendance we will make between 2 and 5 sleds with various functions.

Sled’s to be made:

Basic crosscutting sled.

Dado sled.

Oversized crosscut sled.

Tilted blade sled.

45 degree miter sled.

If you bring your own materials, I will work with you outside the class on your own sled(s).

15 minute break at 1pm.
