After a COVID hiatus, Empty Bowls Wichita is back with a new event for 2022 - Bowl Fest!

Empty Bowls is a fundraiser for the Kansas Food Bank. Traditionally this involves a series of community bowl building events leading up to a big chili cook-off competition and bowl buying event in the fall. To ease back into things, this year they are starting with a new event where the community can come in and check out bowls made by students, local artists, and some famous ceramics artists both near and far, and buy some of those bowl to support the Kansas Food Bank. Bowls range in price from $5 - $50, and make for incredible gifts for family and friends.

We’ll have more information coming about a fall event, and hopefully some work times arranged this summer for folks who want to build bowls at MakeICT again to help support this great event. :heart:

We have bowls that already been through the bisque fire. They were donated by Doug Crabtree and they are available to be glazed and donated to The Empty Bowls event.

The event is still on this evening! Keep your fingers crossed the rain holds off!!!

Looks like we are sticking to the plan and moving forward.

We would like to announce that due to the predicted storms we will close at 7, and that we have unfortunately lost our scheduled food trucks.

Ceramic Bowls and my friends in the Cermaics Studio are great folks. But they are not the only ones with nice Bowls. There is a class scheduled for this coming Saturday May 7.
